Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)

Platelet Rich Plasma

Also referred to as the “Vampire Facial” or “Liquid Gold”, Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is the most natural procedure you can do. This treatment uses your own blood to restore collagen loss and even stimulate hair growth.

What Is PRP?

PRP treatments work by triggering natural hair growth and skin rejuvenation naturally, by increasing the blood supply to the skin and scalp. For hair follicles, this not only effectively boost hair production, but thickness as well. For the face, collagen production is boosted, which is what makes our skin feel plumper and more elastic.

How Does PRP Work?

Your blood is harvested through phlebotomy and separated by centrifuge. The blood is separated into platelet rich plasma and platelet poor blood. Platelets are then injected into different areas of the face, neck, hands and scalp. Once injected into the skin, growth factors in the plasma will stimulate collagen and in some cases thicker hair.

When Will I See Results With PRP?

Results can be seen immediately after treatment, however best results are experienced six months after a series of treatments, especially in the case of hair restoration. For best results, 3 or more treatments are recommended.

Is There Downtime With PRP?

Downtime related to PRP is minimal. The most common side effects include swelling and bruising. Swelling is a natural reaction of the body and can last about 48 hours. Bruising can occur up to 24 hours post procedure and can easily be covered with makeup at this time.

How Long Will Results Last With PRP?

Results will continue to improve six months after your first treatment. Maintenance is encouraged once a year for longer lasting results.
